Henry Ford’s first car was created in his shed in 1896

20 July marks the anniversary of the first car being shipped from the Ford Motor Company in 1903. Henry Ford’s first “horseless carriage”, the Ford Quadricycle, was created in his she

d in 1896 and he had to knock down a wall to get it out.

By 1902, he had designed an 80+ horsepower racer and, with backing from a friend, founded Ford & Malcolmson. Their greatest success was the introduction of the Model T in 1908. In 1913 they introduced moving assembly belts into their Detroit factory, creating the first production line.
